Check out reviews on Tripadvisor. How far is it from the airport? Google Maps has got you covered. Want to book a specific hotel? Click on Booking.com. What daytrips run in <insert place here>? Getyourguide or Viator know.
There are even apps like Tripit which will scan your inbox and collate flights, hotel bookings and activities and automatically collate them into an itinerary. It’s witchcraft, I tell you!
When you’re there
The support doesn’t stop when you land in your far off destination. Forget queuing at the bank to change travellers’ cheques at extortionate rates, travel cards like Revolut and Monzo allow you to transact like a local.
