When planning my trip to Slovenia, I used the following resources.

Nestled between more established tourist destinations like Italy, Austria, Hungary, and Croatia, Slovenia is often overlooked when travellers book their next holiday.

This is a real shame, because despite its small size, Slovenia packs a punch. There are few countries which offer such diverse experiences in such a small package.

Hikers could be forgiven for thinking they’ve landed in Switzerland when they’re walking through perfect Alpine Landscapes. Romantics will love the fairy tale castle and picture postcard scenery of Lake Bled. Oenophiles will coo over the wines of Istria.

The capital city, Ljubljana is, like the country, compact and perfect for a short visit. Stroll along the river and cross its iconic bridges. Take the funicular to visit its castle and stroll through Tivoli Park.
