Welcome to Colombia. This is my jumping off page for all my Colombia based posts
There was a time, not that long ago, when travel to Colombia was the last thing on people’s minds. Fortunately, the turbulent, drug ridden times, if not totally gone, are well in the country’s rear view mirror.
This is a great thing, not only for travellers looking for exciting new destinations, but for the Colombians themselves, who are extremely hospitable and keen to show their wonderful country off to a new and appreciative audience.
Colombia Travel Guide
Colombia is a massive country, and that brings with it a wide variety of attractions. Whether you want to swim with pink river dolphins in the Amazon, hike the towering peaks of the Andes, or chill on the Caribbean coast, you’ll find something for you in Colombia.
Colombia has come a long way from the times of Pablo Escobar and the Medillin Cartel and the ongoing fight between the Guerillas and Paramilitary. The problems aren’t over, but the country is as safe for tourists as other South American countries.
The upside is spectacular, accomodation, food and travel is cheap, the domestic transport system is well developed (did I mention cheap).
So, if you’re looking for a ‘different’ travel destination, that offers a bit of adventure, then Colombia may just be for you.
